Businesses, especially family-managed businesses and SMEs, are the backbone of the economy. Our uniquely designed Business Transformation intervention for entrepreneurs and family-managed business owners is a proven, methodical way to create impact and grow businesses to world-class standards. With our diverse team and strong foundational strategies, we guide and facilitate organizations on their journey to achieve greater certainty in business operations, build self-sufficient enterprises, and accomplish more.
Several components must come together to take a business to the next level. We work with organizations to design, implement, and synchronize these components, putting in place a robust structure for business growth. This structure is built on a foundation of Operational Excellence. Once processes have been streamlined through OPEX interventions, the alignment of people and technology with these processes is addressed.
Bajo Tierra, Vietnam
Bajo Tierra, an Indian stone (marble, granite, porcelain, and quartz) brand, set up warehousing operations in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, just before the COVID-19 pandemic. The company engaged KIAP to help establish a self-sustaining business model.
KIAP initially worked with the team to set up warehouses in two additional cities. This included site selection, layout design, implementation of world-class warehouse practices, and standardized work across all three locations. On the people front, we helped appoint a business head, supported the transition from Indian staff to local Vietnamese employees, and designed a monthly KRA monitoring system for each employee.
To ensure system-driven operations, we selected ERPNext to replace the legacy system and worked with vendors to customize it while incorporating Lean principles into the ERP framework. We were also involved in the design and development of a product sales website for the Vietnam region.
The company now operates in a self-sustaining mode, with our involvement limited to fortnightly operational reviews and monthly profitability reviews. Over the past two years, the business has remained profitable, achieving a 50% reduction in inventory levels, a 30% reduction in operating costs, and a 10% increase in gross profit margins. The promoter’s operational involvement has been significantly reduced, allowing him to focus on other business ventures.
