Founder's Insights
Dr. Shrinivas Gondhalekar, known as Dr. G, was a trailblazer in quality management in India. As the founder of Kiap in 1992, he introduced the concept of Kaizen from Japan to India after studying under Masaaki Imai, the father of Kaizen.
A PhD holder from IIT Mumbai and a PGDIE graduate from NITIE, Dr. G regularly led study tours to Japan, sharing insights from Japanese management practices. He mentored numerous PhD students, leaving a lasting educational legacy.
Dr. G’s book, Chronicles of a Quality Detective, reflects his deep expertise in quality management. His pioneering work continues to inspire excellence at Kiap and beyond.
Dr. Shrinivas Gondhalekar’s contributions have had a lasting impact on Indian industry, shaping countless businesses and instilling a culture of continuous improvement and excellence that continues through Kiap.
S. Dorai Rajan, is an acknowledged authority in Lean Management and an experienced Cost & Management Expert, he is Associate Member of Institute of Cost Accountants of India and a Mechanical Engineer.
During his career he handled many functions like Treasury, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Commercial and finally the Profit center head As a consultant since 1994, he focuses on instilling passion for perfection in organizations through the powerful Kaizen Workshops.
His ability to question conventional practices has resulted in significant improvements in many traditional industries like reducing the construction time by 60% in a prestigious luxury apartment project in Mumbai and improving Tea Plucking Productivity by 50% in a 80-year old Tea Estate.
Based on the experience of implementing the systems in 8 organizations, he has authored the HAND BOOK ON ACTIVITY BASED COSTING, published by the INSTITUTE OF COST ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA.
